Q How did African Americans secure economic opportunity during World War II? Was it these wartime measures (or some other mechanism) that led to stronger legislation after WWII?
When the Second World War started, it led to the increased demands of the wartime goods which helped to revive the economy of the United States. In fact, the United States implemented many rules so that the citizens of America consume less of these products so that wartime demands could be met. In this, African American too wanted to contribute and they did and in return they expected their share in the coming prosperity by finding employment in the defense industries in the similar manner like in the First World War.
